Ten miles of city streets from Hollywood to downtown were oddly quiet Sunday. That stillness was due to the absence of the usual cars, trucks, buses and other motorized vehicles -- and their noises and emissions. Instead, human-powered bicycles glided softly over the streets, weaving around walkers, runners, skateboarders and other people out to experience the rare occasion of a carless street, an event known as CicLAvia.
