Photo gallery: New carousel at L.A. Zoo features exotic animals

After viewing the silverback gorilla and komodo dragon at the Los Angeles Zoo, you can now ride them, too. Those animals -- and some five dozen more -- are featured on the Tom Mankiewicz Conservation Carousel opening today. Dedicated to the late board chairman of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, the merry-go-round boasts hand-made wooden critters, most of them saddled up and ready to go.
